What Is a Process Control System And Its Types Including Eurotherm 3200

Primarily a process control system watches over the manufacturing environment and controls the process or flow electronically on the basis of various set-points fetched by the user. The devices used in a process control system are known as programmable logic controllers. It can be used for controlling machines with discrete parts such as motor starters, limit switches etc. If you wish to keep a check on analog devices, distributed control systems are considered as the front runners.

These controllers can be divided into 2 basic categories:
1.Single Loop Controllers
2.Multi-Loop controllers

Single loop controllers find major usage in many industrial establishments like power plants, oil refineries, chemical plants, petrochemical plants, and more. Basically, a single loop controller obtains crucial parameters like temperature, flow rate, pressure, temperature from sensors and transmits corresponding instructions to control elements like valves for further maintenance. Single loop controllers are extensively used in the industry these days to control small plant facilities and serve as back-ups to distributed control systems.

When there is more than one control loop within a system, multi-loop controllers are used. Generally mounted on panels these controllers are programmed using a typical proprietary software program that downloads settings to the multi-loop temperature controller using communications.

Once you’ve understood the process controllers in entirety, you can look online to purchase top-grade process controllers like 3208 Eurotherm, Eurotherm Efit, Eurotherm 3200 that suit your requirements.
